Support if you become seriously unwell
Critical illness plans can be a stand-alone policy or an addition to life insurance cover. They pay out a lump sum if you are diagnosed with one of a list of specified conditions. That lump sum could be used to repay a mortgage or a loan, to cover a long spell away from work or even one-off expenses such as home repairs.
A cheaper alternative is Family Income Benefit cover, which pays a regular income if you are stricken with a serious illness. Our experienced team can advise you on the plan that is right for you - the quality of cover and the illnesses that qualify can vary between providers. Please note that your plan will have no cash-in value at any time and will cease at the end of the term. If premiums are not maintained, cover will lapse. Also, the police may not cover all the definitions of a critical illness. For definitions, please refer to your key features and policy document.
